The main span of the Chongqi Yangtze River Bridge, which accommodates both road and rail traffic, features an innovative main girder structure combining primary and secondary trusses with a steel-concrete composite design. The road deck is constructed entirely of concrete composite panels. This makes it the world's first cable-stayed bridge with an all-steel truss composite beam where the concrete deck of the road participates in the primary load-bearing system.
